The case for Lotte Hotel World is the complex it sits in, not the room rate.

The hotel connects directly to Lotte World and to Lotte World Mall, and Jamsil Station on Lines 2 and 8 sits at the same intersection.

That matters most if Jamsil is part of your trip rather than a place to sleep. If your days are built around Gyeongbokgung, Bukchon, and Insadong, you will be commuting north every morning.

What the location actually buys you

Korea Tourism Organization's listing describes the hotel as directly connected to both Lotte World and Lotte World Mall. Seoul's own tourism listing adds the Seokchon Lake side.

Read that as a weather claim as much as a convenience one. You can reach a theme park, a mall, a cinema, an aquarium, and a lakeside walk without crossing an open road in August heat or January wind.

For a family, that removes the part of a Seoul day that usually goes wrong: getting tired children from an attraction back to a bed.

Lotte World is the main reason to be here

A theme park day runs long, and the return trip is where it stops being fun. Staying in the complex turns that return into a short indoor walk.

It also makes a split day realistic. Families with small children can go back at lunchtime, rest, and return in the afternoon, which is awkward from a hotel 30 to 40 minutes away by subway.

If you are weighing Lotte World against Everland before you book, the Korea theme parks comparison covers how the two differ.

The tower, the mall, and eating nearby

Lotte World Tower stands 555 m over 123 floors and holds an observation deck, according to the Korea Tourism Organization listing. Lotte World Mall next to it holds the Avenuel department stores, a cinema, an aquarium, and a concert hall.

In practice this is the part travelers underuse. A rained-out afternoon in Jamsil still has an aquarium, a cinema, and several floors of food in it.

For where to actually eat in the complex rather than defaulting to the food court, see where to eat around Jamsil and Lotte World Mall.

Getting around Seoul from Jamsil

Jamsil Station serves Lines 2 and 8. Line 2 is the loop that ties the southern half of the city together, which is the practical advantage here.

Samseong and COEX, Gangnam, and Hongdae all sit on that loop with no transfer. If your plans lean toward the south of the river, you spend less time changing trains than you would from a central base.

Central and northern Seoul stay reachable, but they are a ride rather than a walk. Gyeongbokgung, Bukchon, and Insadong involve a transfer and a meaningful chunk of the morning.

The honest version: if most of your itinerary is palaces, hanok lanes, and Myeongdong, a base north of the river saves you real commuting time. If your trip mixes Jamsil, Gangnam, and general sightseeing, the balance tips the other way.

For how the two ends of the city compare before you commit, the Jamsil and Songpa area guide and the Gangnam guide are the ones to read next.

Getting there from Incheon Airport

The airport limousine is the reason this hotel is easier to reach than its distance suggests.

K Airport Limousine route 6705A lists Jamsil Lotte World Hotel as a stop in both directions, between the airport terminals and the Gwangnaru and Walkerhill end of the route. The stop is marked non-stop, meaning the bus runs between the airport and Jamsil without intermediate pickups.

As of September 2026 the operator lists the fare as ₩18,000 for adults and ₩12,000 for children aged 6 to 12, with buses every 25 to 45 minutes. Departures toward the city start around 05:00 from Terminal 2 and 05:20 from Terminal 1.

The last departure in the other direction is earlier than most travelers expect. As of September 2026 the operator lists the final bus toward the airport at 18:50, which rules the limousine out for an evening flight.

Schedules, fares, and stop lists change. Check the official airport limousine timetable before you travel, especially for a late arrival, and treat the last departure as the number worth confirming.

The subway also works and costs less. The Incheon Airport to Seoul guide compares the options in detail.

Rooms, in the terms that matter

The Korea Tourism Organization listing records 469 rooms, with deluxe and family configurations and character rooms themed around the Lotte World mascots. Seoul's tourism listing names those characters as Loti and Lory.

Two of those are worth thinking about before you book. Family configurations matter if you are four people who would otherwise need two rooms, and the character rooms are a genuine draw for younger children rather than a gimmick.

The hotel's own site did not return readable room details when checked, so room names, bed sizes, view categories, and current rates are worth confirming on the booking page rather than taken from this guide.

Who this suits

Families visiting Lotte World, where the walk back matters more than the address. Travelers whose plans are weighted toward Gangnam, COEX, and the southeast. Shoppers who want a department store and a mall in the same building they sleep in. Anyone arriving late from Incheon who would rather take one bus than a train and a transfer.

Who should look elsewhere

First-time visitors whose list is mostly palaces, Bukchon, and Insadong. You would spend 40 minutes or more of each day getting north and back.

Travelers based around Myeongdong or Hongdae nightlife, for the same reason in the other direction.

Budget travelers. This is a full-service hotel in a commercial complex, and Jamsil has cheaper beds a few stops away if the location is what you want rather than the hotel.

Common mistakes

Booking the wrong Lotte hotel. The group runs more than one property in Seoul, and the one near Myeongdong is a different hotel in a different district. The Jamsil property is the one at 240 Olympic-ro.

Treating the complex as a single attraction. Lotte World Adventure is the indoor theme park, Lotte World Mall is the shopping and cinema complex beside it, and Lotte World Tower is the skyscraper holding the observation deck. Tickets are bought separately.

Planning palace days without counting the return. Jamsil to Gyeongbokgung involves a transfer each way. Budget the evening trip back rather than treating it as a short hop.

Assuming the airport bus runs late. It stops in the early evening, so a night flight needs the subway or a taxi instead.

The location take

The reason to book Lotte Hotel World is not the building. It is that one address puts a theme park, a mall, an observation tower, a lake walk, a Line 2 station, and an airport bus stop within a few minutes of each other.

That is worth paying for when your trip uses most of them. When it uses none of them, you are paying for a complex you will leave every morning.

Frequently asked questions

Is Lotte Hotel World actually connected to Lotte World?

Yes. Both the Korea Tourism Organization and Seoul's tourism listing describe the hotel as directly connected to Lotte World, and the same complex holds Lotte World Mall.

Which subway station is it?

Route 6705A lists Jamsil Lotte World Hotel as a stop in both directions. Confirm the current timetable before you travel.
