Take Line 2 to Seongsu Station and the named places below sit within a short walk of Exits 2, 3 and 4. Seoul Forest is a separate stop on a different line.

Brand pop-ups change often, so there is no dated list here. The pop-up section shows how to find what is on the week you travel.

Why Seongsu draws visitors

Visit Seoul describes Seongsu-dong as an industrial complex that once held shoe factories, printing factories, and auto-repair parts makers. It cites some 3,000 manufacturers at the peak, with nearly 1,000 shoe factories.

From the mid-2000s, urban renewal turned abandoned factories and warehouses into shops, workshops, and cultural spaces. Visit Seoul says top brands now open pop-up shops and flagship stores here, and notes the district was once called "the Brooklyn of Korea," a nickname rather than a measure.

How Seongsu is laid out

Seongsu is a set of lanes around one Line 2 station, not a single street. The exit you take decides which lane you land in.

Exits get renumbered or closed for construction, so check the exit on Naver Map or Kakao Map on the day.

Seongsu pop-ups: how to find current ones

A pop-up is a short-run brand space, usually in a converted storefront or warehouse. A listing can go stale within days, so we do not publish a dated list.

Use this order instead.

  1. The organizer's official channel. The brand or event page states the dates, the address, and whether you need to book a time slot.
  2. Naver Map or Kakao Map. Search "성수 팝업" near Seongsu Station and read the listing's current notices.
  3. A final check on the day. Look at the most recent post before you walk over, not the date a blog was published.

Some pop-ups take walk-ins and some ask for advance booking, so read the entry rules on the organizer's page. We give no wait times, because we cannot verify them and they change by the hour.

Do not plan a day around a pop-up that has no confirmed end date. The stores below run on regular schedules and make a safer base.

Shopping and beauty in Seongsu

These are regular stores, not pop-ups. Hours change, so each entry says what has been verified.

Olive Young N Seongsu

Visit Seoul lists the store at 13 Yeonmujang 7-gil, about 100 m from Exit 4 of Seongsu Station, and says it opened in November 2024. Visit Seoul calls it a four-floor store and the biggest Olive Young flagship in Korea.

Opening hours were not stated on that page, so check the current hours before you go. For how Olive Young works in general, read the Olive Young shopping guide. Ask at the counter whether the store handles tax refunds, and see the Korea tax refund guide for how the process works.

Amore Seongsu

Amorepacific's own page gives the address as 7 Achasan-ro 11-gil, with hours of 10:30 to 20:30. It is closed on Mondays, Seollal, and Chuseok.

Some experiences at the store need a reservation, and availability and fees can change. Check the reservation page on Amore's site instead of assuming a walk-in will get a session.

Musinsa Megastore Seongsu

The Korea Herald reported that Musinsa opened this store on April 24, 2026, as a four-floor, 6,600 square meter space for fashion and beauty. It sits on Seongsui-ro, and its opening hours were not verified for this guide, so check them first.

Seongsu Yeonbang and Handmade Shoe Street

Seongsu Yeonbang is a cultural space at 14 Seongsui-ro 14-gil, a 2-minute walk from Exit 3 according to the Seoul city page. It describes bookstores, lifestyle shops, and restaurants set in 1970s architecture.

Handmade Shoe Street, at 15 Yeonmujang 7-gil near Exit 4, is a workshop area rather than one shop. The same Seoul city page says it holds more than 350 handmade shoe manufacturers and 100 midway processing businesses, a trade that took root in the 1970s. Ask any workshop whether it sells ready-made pairs or takes made-to-order work before you assume either.

Cafes in Seongsu

Cafes are plentiful in Seongsu, so two verified starting points are enough. Pick by hours and building type.

Onion Seongsu

Onion's own contact page lists 8 Achasan-ro 9-gil. It is open 08:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00 to 22:00 on weekends and holidays, with last order at 21:30, and it says the walk from Exit 2 takes about 5 minutes.

On weekdays it opens at 08:00, earlier than the 10:30 and 11:00 openings of Amore Seongsu and Daelim Changgo. That makes it a natural first stop if you start early.

Daelim Changgo

Visit Seoul lists Daelim Changgo at 78 Seongsui-ro, open daily 11:00 to 22:00, 304 m from Exit 3. The building keeps the structure and finishing of a 1970s rice mill, and the venue combines cafe, bar, dining, and gallery space.

A visit here is as much about the building as the menu. The Visit Seoul page was edited in August 2026, so check hours again before you plan around the late closing time.

Food allergies and dietary needs

Cafe pastries and drinks commonly contain dairy, eggs, wheat, and nuts. The official sources used here do not say whether any listed cafe has halal or vegan certification, so do not assume it; ask the staff and read the menu. For full meals, see what to eat near Seoul Forest.

Seoul Forest is a public park at 273 Ttukseom-ro. The Seoul Forest Park Conservancy states the park is free and open 24 hours, while facilities such as gardens have their own hours and seasonal closures. Check the conservancy's notice page before you plan around a specific facility.

The park offers open space and walking paths instead of shops. It works best in daylight, so put it first or last in a day, not in the middle of the shop hours.

Two stations serve it. Seoul Forest Station is on the Suin-Bundang Line, and Ttukseom Station is on Line 2. The sources we checked disagree on which exit is nearest, so we print no exit numbers: confirm on a map app.

Routes

These are sequences, not timed itineraries. Walking times between stops are not stated in the sources, so check the live map.

Half day in the shopping lanes

  1. Seongsu Station, Exit 2 side: coffee at Onion Seongsu on a weekday morning.
  2. Amore Seongsu after it opens at 10:30, with a reservation if you want an experience.
  3. Walk to the Exit 4 side for Olive Young N Seongsu and Handmade Shoe Street.
  4. Exit 3 side: Seongsu Yeonbang, then Daelim Changgo from 11:00 onward.

Amore Seongsu closes at 20:30, so do shopping first and leave the late cafe for the end.

Seongsu plus Seoul Forest

Start in Seoul Forest in daylight, then move to the lanes once shops open. Going the other way works too, but Amore Seongsu may be closed or near closing if you arrive late.

Rainy day

Retail flagships and cafes work indoors: Musinsa Megastore Seongsu, Olive Young N Seongsu, Amore Seongsu, Daelim Changgo, and Seongsu Yeonbang. Skip Seoul Forest and the shoe-street walk.

Getting to Seongsu

Seongsu vs Myeongdong vs Hongdae

Myeongdong is a grid of pedestrian shopping lanes in central Seoul. See the Myeongdong guide for its food and shopping streets.

Seongsu spreads shops and cafes across lanes in converted industrial buildings, with a park at one edge. Hongdae is a separate district on the same Line 2, and this guide does not compare its nightlife or cafe scene.

Practical tips

  • Start on a weekday. Onion opens at 08:00, while Amore and Daelim Changgo open later.
  • Check hours store by store. Amore closes Mondays, and hours for Olive Young N Seongsu and Musinsa Megastore were not verified.
  • Do not rely on one pop-up. Keep a regular store as the backup.
  • Read pop-up entry rules on the organizer's page, not a repost.

Common mistakes

  • Going for a pop-up that has ended. Check the organizer's latest post, not a blog's publish date.
  • Taking Line 2 for Seoul Forest. The park's stations are Seoul Forest Station on the Suin-Bundang Line or Ttukseom Station on Line 2.
  • Arriving at Amore on a Monday. The store is closed Mondays.
  • Assuming every store has a refund counter. Ask each store about tax refunds.
  • Treating the shoe street as one shop. It is a set of workshops with different rules.

FAQ

Is Seongsu-dong worth visiting for a first-time visitor?

Yes if you want retail flagships, cafes, and an urban park in one trip. If you only have a day, palaces and markets in central Seoul come first.

Which subway station is best for Seongsu-dong?

Seongsu Station on Line 2 for the shopping and cafe lanes. For the park, use Seoul Forest Station or Ttukseom Station.

Are there pop-ups in Seongsu right now?

Check the organizer's channel and a map app the week you travel. Pop-ups change too often for a fixed list.

How long do I need in Seongsu?

About half a day for the lanes is our planning estimate, plus a separate block for Seoul Forest. It is not a measured time.

Is Seoul Forest in Seongsu?

Yes. The Seoul Forest address is 273 Ttukseom-ro in Seongdong-gu, and the KTO photo record places it in Seongsu-dong 1-ga.

Do Seongsu stores offer tax refunds?

Ask each store at the counter instead of assuming. Read the Korea tax refund guide first.

Is Seongsu good on a rainy day?

Partly. The stores and cafes work indoors, while Seoul Forest and the shoe-street walk do not.

Do I need a reservation in Seongsu?

Not for most cafes. Some Amore Seongsu experiences and some pop-ups need one, so check their pages.

Olive Young Shopping Guide for Foreigners: Stores, Sales, Tax Refund, and How to Shop Smart

Olive Young is Korea's largest health-and-beauty chain, with over 1,300 branches, and the practical questions are which one to visit and when. Large flagship stores can deduct the tax refund at the register when you show your physical passport, while small neighbourhood branches usually hand you a receipt to process at the airport. Chain-wide sales run roughly quarterly, with a shorter promotion around the 25th to 27th of each month, and yellow tags mark the running deals. Below: picking a branch, the sale calendar, checking stock in the app, what the categories are worth comparing, and how paying works. Prices, promotions, stock, and opening hours change constantly, so confirm current details in store or in the app.
