Samcheok is not a Seoul direct for planning
For trip planning, do not assume a Seoul → Samcheok KTX through-service. Build the plan as Seoul area → Mukho or Donghae, then a final leg into Samcheok.
Samcheok Station sits on the coastal Donghae Line (Gangneung to Bujeon corridor) and has carried KTX-Eum service since late 2025. That coastal-line fact is not the same thing as a Seoul direct you can rely on without checking.
